Before you hand it over you want to know who will be working on it. Will I get it back in one piece? Do they know what they are doing? Will I be treated fairly? Reasonable questions, so here is who we are.

Twenty years in Rotterdam
GSM Dokter started in Rotterdam twenty years ago, in the days when a broken phone mostly meant a broken keypad. Since then we have repaired more than 300,000 devices. We are still in the city centre, on the Jonker Fransstraat, and since recently also at the Kleine Beer near the Alexandrium shopping centre. The same people, the same prices and the same warranty at both.
What we are actually good at
Any shop can swap a screen. What sets us apart is what happens when a device cannot simply be swapped: work on the board itself, at component level, under a microscope. Repairing traces, replacing individual chips, resoldering a charging port or an HDMI socket. We do that in our own workshop, so nothing goes to a third party and nobody has to wait weeks for an answer.
That is also why people come to us with devices that have already been turned down elsewhere. A phone that has been under water, a MacBook that will not power on, a console with no picture. Sometimes the device really is beyond saving, and we say so. But often the data is still there, and we can get it out. See data recovery.
How we work
- Price before the work. You hear what it costs and how long it takes before anything is opened. We only start once you agree.
- No surprises afterwards. If we find something different from what you reported, we call you first.
- Your data stays yours. With ordinary repairs everything stays on the device and we never ask for your passcode.
- 12 months warranty on the part and on the work, at both shops.
- We say when a repair is not worth it. If a new device makes more sense, you will hear that from us too.
Certified Apple repairer
We are a certified Apple repairer, which means we can order genuine Apple parts and run Apple’s own diagnostic software. For iPhone screens you usually have a choice between an original Apple part and a high grade alternative at a lower price. You hear what the difference is, and you decide.
