Which MacBook do I have?
Click the Apple menu and choose About This Mac, or look at the small print on the underside for a model number starting with A, for example A2338. We repair MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, from the older Intel models to the latest ones with M-series chips.
Liquid damage: act fast
Coffee, water or wine on the keyboard is the most common reason MacBooks come in. What matters is what happens next. Do not switch it on, do not put it on the charger to see whether it still works, and do not leave it closed for days. Corrosion keeps eating into the board as long as there is power on it. Bring it in as soon as you can; the sooner we can clean the board, the more of it survives.
When your MacBook will not start at all
On a MacBook with a T2, M1, M2 or M3 chip the SSD is soldered to the logic board and encrypted with the Secure Enclave. There is no drive to take out, so anyone who offers to simply read the disk cannot help with these models. The only route to your files is getting the board working again, which is microsoldering. Frequently asked questions
My MacBook says “Service Recommended” for the battery. Is that urgent?
Not immediately, but do not leave it for months. A tired battery can swell, and a swollen battery pushes against the trackpad and the case. If the case is lifting or the trackpad clicks oddly, bring it in soon.
Can you replace just the glass on the screen?
On a MacBook the glass and the panel are one assembly, so the whole display is replaced. We tell you the exact price for your model beforehand.
My MacBook got wet but still works. Should I come in?
Yes, preferably soon. Corrosion carries on working while the machine seems fine, and many MacBooks fail weeks after the spill. Cleaning the board costs €79 and often prevents a far more expensive repair.
Do you repair logic boards?
Yes, at component level, in our own workshop. Nothing is sent to a third party. This is how we handle MacBooks that will not power on, will not charge, or have no backlight.
Will I lose my files?
With a screen, battery, keyboard or charging port repair, no. If the machine no longer starts, ask us about data recovery: you pay only if your files come back.
