Nintendo Switch repair in Rotterdam: screen, joy-con drift and charging port

What joy-con drift actually is
Drift is not a software problem and recalibrating only hides it for a while. Inside the stick sits a small sensor with contacts that wear down and fill with dust, so the console keeps reading a movement that is not there. We replace the stick module itself and calibrate it afterwards, which is why the fix lasts. At €29 per pair it costs a fraction of a new set of Joy-Cons.
Screen or glass?
On the Switch the glass, the display and the touch layer are bonded into one unit, so a crack means the whole assembly is replaced. On the OLED model the panel is a different part from the standard Switch, so tell us which version you have. Not sure? Frequently asked questions
Do I keep my games and saves?
Yes. Screen, battery, joy-con and charging port repairs leave the internal storage untouched. Digital games and saves stay where they are.
Will recalibrating fix my drift?
Only for a short while. Drift is physical wear inside the stick, so the only lasting fix is replacing the module.
Does Nintendo repair drift for free?
Nintendo has repaired drifting Joy-Cons free of charge in some cases. If your console is still under warranty, going to Nintendo first is worth it and we will say so. Out of warranty, or if you would rather not be without your console for weeks, we can do it quickly.
Which Switch do I have?
The model number on the back tells you: HAC for the original Switch, HEG for the OLED and HDH for the Lite. Send us a photo if you are unsure.
How long does it take?
Joy-Con drift is often done the same day. For screen and board work you hear the expected time when you hand the console in.
