No picture on the television
This is the most common Xbox fault and it is almost always the HDMI port on the board, not the console as a whole. The port sits at the edge where the cable is plugged in and out hundreds of times, and eventually a pin lifts off the board. Replacing it means desoldering the old port and soldering a new one in place, under a microscope. Before you bring it in, rule out the simple things: try a different HDMI cable and a different port on the television. If that changes nothing, the port is the likely cause.
Loud, hot, and shutting down
A console that sounds like a hairdryer is usually full of dust, and dust means heat. Heat makes the console throttle and eventually shut down to protect itself, and over years it shortens the life of the board. Cleaning the fan and replacing the thermal paste costs €99 and makes a surprising difference to the noise.

Do I keep my games and saves?
Yes. With an HDMI, power supply, drive or fan repair the hard drive is untouched and everything stays on it. If the hard drive itself is being replaced we tell you beforehand what that means for your saved games.
How long does it take?
Console repairs are not done while you wait. You hear the expected time when you hand the console in, and we call you as soon as it is ready.
Should I bring the controller and cables?
Bring the power cable. A controller is only needed if the fault is with the controller itself.
Is it worth repairing an older Xbox One?
Often yes. An HDMI port or a fan clean costs far less than a new console, and the machine can easily last another few years. We say honestly when a repair is no longer worth it.
